Happy 4th of July!

What does a famous race car designer drive, when he wants to have some fun?

If you ask Peter Stevens, creator of the McLaren F1, arguably the most admired – and certainly most collectible and most valuable – contemporary ultra-high performance car, it’s a 1973 Citroen 2 CV Camionette. Yes, the brain behind state-of-the-art, electronics-laden, 800 horsepower supercars likes to tool around the British countryside in an anachronistic, quirky, 24-hp French slug. Does that come as a surprise ? No. Could it be that there’s more freedom to be found behind the wheel of a simple, unpretentious fahrmaschine than in the cockpit of a Million-Dollar “jet on wheels?”

Happy Independence Day everybody, and may y’all find your heart’s desire in this great Country of ours!
