Genuine Movie Prop:
Meet Grandpa!

I'd like to introduce to you a genuine movie prop, nick-named "Grandpa." Grandpa was crafted in 1995 by John Crisscolf, a special effects master, for Van Ness Creative Group in Beverly, MA.

John made movie props for productions such as Dinosors, Grillems, and Crockides. I purchased Grandpa together with another, even scarier movie prop back in 2003.

Grandpa stands 21 inches tall and is fully dressed, ready for action. The detail on the head is nothing but breathtaking!
As common on movie props, only what the camera captures is important, the rest is rather lusterless Hollywood reality. On the back, Grandpa is wired so that his head and arms can be moved by a puppeteer. I didn't want to dig too deep into the inner workings, just wanted to take a photo for you to see what's lurking beneath.

Grandpa's been sitting in one of the visitors' chairs of my office every day. His favorite day of the year is Halloween, however, which is when he's going home with me, sitting in the window and watching out for children brave enough to ring our door bell!
