Having traveled just 37K miles in 32 years, this 1986 Mercedes 560SL is truly in a class of its own.

As a special treat, a brand new set of the elegant, European-style Mercedes-Benz bumpers was fitted to the car, reportedly at a cost of $8,000.00.

Manufactured by old-school Stuttgart craftsmen in June of 1986, this fine R107 model, VIN *WDBBA48D9GA051858* was sold new on August 13, 1986 at House of Imports in Buena Park, Orange County, Calif. and has been cared for by just two enthusiast owners since, the first being a wealthy industrialist and inventor from Cerritos, Calif.

All the usual goodies, such as owner's manual, maintenance booklet, various other factory brochures, top tools, and even the original, unused, leather "M-B" key pouch still reside inside the glove box.

All services and factory recalls have been performed, as evidenced by the stamped maintenance booklet and notations on the vehicle history report. Last service was carried out at Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel on July 25, 2016 @ 36,942 miles.

This 560SL's engine bay looks absolutely untouched. It houses the original 5.6-liter, light-alloy SOHC V8 motor, featuring the fabulous BOSCH KE Motronic fuel injection. Giving the contemporary Porsche 911 Carrera a run for the money, it takes a mere 7.5 seconds to propel this veritable street rocket from a standing start to 60 mph. Top speed of the 560SL is 137mph, again, clearly Porsche 911 territory!

Needless to say, absence of wear and tear is further corroboration of the very low odometer reading. Even upon close inspection, the unrestored engine compartment presents itself virtually toothbrush clean.

Delivered in the beautiful shade of light ivory (factory code #632), this 560SL looks positively stunning. There are no dings, dents, scratches, bubbles, or rock chips to lose sleep over. The small, European-style bumpers look gorgeous and all the other brightwork and weatherstripping appears equally beautiful.

The elegant, removable hardtop is part of the package. Its condition speaks for itself. Practical hardtop stand is included.

The factory alloy's chrome finish sparkles and the Michelin rubber on all 4 corners is near new.

The world's ultimate tanning machine's cockpit exudes a luxurious Old World ambiance. Burl Walnut veneer and genuine, unmarked, chocolate brown leather set dominant interior accents, worthy of a Rolls Royce or Bentley. Velour carpeting and floor mats are spotless, like new.

Dash presents itself in pristine condition, without any of the hairline cracking that so often mars California SLs.
Standard equipment includes power windows, power-operated passenger-side rearview mirror, vacuum-operated power locking system, height-adjustable driver's seat, automatic climate control, and cruise control.

Some of the small, but important, details a collector will look for: the orange gauge pointers display no hint of sun fading. Steering wheel is OEM and shows absolutely zero wear. Stereo has never been "updated," still remains the tried-and-true BECKER Grand Prix model.
