This '85 'Vette is a second year C4 model, the first year for the TPI fuel injection.

The car is a documented 1-owner California car that still carries its original blue-and-yellow California license plates. It comes with a clean California Certificate of Title and a new California Smog Certificate.

 image

This 'Vette was built in March of 1985 -- over 38 years ago -- in GM's Kentucky plant. All the stickers are intact.

 image

The mileage shown on the odometer, now 043,867, is the original mileage of this car, also documented via a clean Carfax report.

 image

Having resided in Southern California all its life, the car is a rust and accident free survivor in generally good condition throughout.

However, the merciless California sun has baked the horizontal surfaces, so the car would benefit greatly from at least a partial respray.

 image

Being a low mileage car, the engine runs exceptionally well and there are no fluid leaks of any kind. Clutch master and sleeve cylinders were just replaced. Throttle response is brisk and performance simply amazing!

Having watched the earlier generations of the Corvette to transition from sports car to collectible, the C4's time has come. Pick up a healthy low mileage car, enjoy driving it but take care of it, and you should be able to make money when you want to move on.

 image

All 4 stock alloys are in good, undamaged condition and carry correct 255/50-16 radials. While these tires have good thread, they do show some sun damage on the flanks.

 image

The Corvette has a removable fiberglass hardtop. Removed, it allows for safe open-air motoring.

 image

Interior is all stock, dressed in charcoal gray cloth.

 image

The C4 is the first Corvette that featured electronic LCD gauges. They work as they should. Also interesting, the C4 was the only Corvette offering a 4-speed manual coupled to an switch-operated overdrive in the top 3 gears, which earned the transmission the 4+3 nickname, resulting in 7 useable gear ratios. Overdrive works fine.

 image

Recaro-style sport seats have large side bolsters and are power operated. Their fabric has faded from a dark charcoal to the bluish hue.

rear image

All of the lights work. Note original blue California license plates.

Now is the perfect time to buy a C4 Corvette. This one has a lot of going for it: 1-owner, blue plates, low miles, and stick-shift.
