The Chevrolet "Super Sport Roadster" is a sports car, a convertible and a pickup all in one. It was designed as a concept vehicle and smoothly made the transition from a new car to a cherished collectible.

The SSR was built from 2003 until March 17, 2006. The 2003 and 2004 model years used GM's 5.3 L 300 hp Vortec 5300 V8, whereas the 2005 SSR used the 390 hp (291 kW) LS2 V8 from the C6 Corvette. Reportedly a total of 24,150 SSRs were built.

The 2005 Chevrolet SSR presented here comes equipped with the most desirable LS2 engine. A California vehicle from new, it is rust and accident free and comes with a clean Californi title and a clean Carfax report.

All factory labels and stickers are present, including the "equipment" sticker and the car has a new California Smog Certificate as well.

Mileage now is 105,099.

Chevrolet tweaked the Corvette LS2 to work better in a pickup, focusing on max torque instead of max power, using, among other things, a taller intake manifold. The end result was 390hp, providing bullet-proof Corvette C6 performance in a pickup!

This engine starts and runs flawlessly, with no leaks and no issues of any kind to report. We just had a new serpentine belt and a new idler pulley installed.

The Chevrolet SSR comes equipped with power windows, power door locks, power hardtop convertible roof, keyless entry, leather seats, dual front and side airbags, AM/FM stereo with CD player and a four-speaker audio system, driver information center, dual-zone air conditioning, power-adjustable driver's seat, tilt steering wheel, and cruise control.

The power-operated hardtop is an amazing 3-piece design. Its function is shown in the video below.

With the top down, it's open-air motoring at its finest.

Chromed factory alloy wheels are 19x8 inches wide in front, 20x10 inches in the back!

SSR's curvatious body is straight as an arrow, and the paint is beautifully preserved, with just a few small imperfections and signs of use, namely a small damage at the front grille, a ding on top of the right front fender, and small dent on the rear bumper, above the left exhaust tip.

 image

Interior is super clean, with dark charcoal velour carpeting and color matched seats, which are partial leather and partial vinyl.

 image

Dash and steering wheel are crack free.

 image

All of the gauges work as they should. All control lights go on, and then off again.

Interestingly, this car has a torque gauge; have you ever seen one before?

 image

Seats are in great condition with no rips or tears.

 image

All of the lights work, including the backup lights.

Rear tonnau cover opens at the push of a button, located inside the glove box.

We just installed two new struts here; they are extremely powerful.

 image

Tailgate opens via the handle inside of it.

Being a California vehicle from new, the undercarriage is 100% corrosion free.

Everything has been detailed here, ready for show and go!

 image

This SSR starts, runs, and drives great!

 image

Steering is sports-car direct, brakes anchor the "truck" with authority.

 image

Driving an SSR gets you noticed. The truck is just so different from "normal" cars out there. It accelerates like a Corvette, and being a Chevrolet makes it utterly practical and dependable at the same time.

Opportunity calls, are you ready to answer?

Addendum:
We sold this SSR in August of 2023 to a customer in New Mexico.
